Using the prayer settings on the beautiful retreat grounds at Our Lady of Hope, we will fill our hearts with the hope that comes to us through the love Jesus shows us in his passion, death and resurrection. This hope is constantly challenged by the discouragement of our time. Through the wisdom of St. Ignatius Loyola and his understanding of discernment, we will find ourselves holding fast to that hope during this Lenten season. The retreat format will include presentations, prayer and quiet time alone, Mass, and opportunities for confession and spiritual direction.

Presenter: Fr. John Auther, S.J., is currently a retreat director at the Jesuit Retreat Center in Los Altos, CA. He is an engaging speaker of great humor and spiritual insight. In over 40 years as a Jesuit, his ministries have included being a parish pastor, spiritual direction, and campus and prison ministries. He founded The Center for Ignatian Spirituality in San Diego, to train spiritual directors. Believing that powerful things from God happen on retreats that don't happen at other times, Fr. John has always viewed retreat ministry as a wonderful way to serve the Lord.

Total Cost:
Individual - $395. To register, you may either pay the whole amount OR pay $50 to register and the balance of $345 due by February 1.
Couples - $750 (may request 2 rooms). To register you may either pay the whole amount or $50 to register and the balance of $700 due February 1.
Check in Thursday 3-5 pm; ends before lunch on Sunday.

Fr. John Auther, SJ, is a retreat director at the Jesuit Retreat Center in Los Altos, CA. He has been a Jesuit for over 40 years and a priest for 30 years. He has served in a number of ministries over the years, including high school campus ministry, prison ministry and as an associate pastor and pastor in Phoenix and San Diego. At his parish in San Diego, Fr. John developed a training program in Ignatian Spirituality for Spiritual Directors. Fr. John is known for the depth, humor and energy of his retreats. He is a gifted presenter. He believes that powerful things from God happen on retreats that don’t happen anywhere else.
